When I said I killed a deer with it I didn't actually mean I shot the deer with the gun. I was sitting very still and the deer got so close that when I raised the gun we kind of locked eyes. When we were staring at each other I noticed his eyes drift down to the gun for a split second. That's when his deer jaw just dropped, his eyes got really big and he pressed his front hooves to his little deer chest. He reared over backward and that was that, I figured I better put my tag on him since the horror that is the scope mount on my browning is obviously what killed him. Looking back I'm just glad nobody else was killed.
Mitchell, sorry to bring back this very painful thread. Bought the Win 71 last night. Posted some pics on the Win forum, don't have the balls to spare for posting them here. Thanks for the tip on saving ammo, I will give it a try if I get close enough to a deer Sat.
