If they would sweep the streets and arrest anyone with an illegal gun, a whole bunch of guns would disappear over night. It's an enforcement issue, not a gun issue. We're overwhelmed with unenforced laws.
The reality to that is, Chicago would be throwing its police force into a literal war zone and many of them would get killed.
The day the police left, it would start all over again.
The only way to realistically deal with it is to work to keep it contained within the black community.
