He is the guy who told his guy he was leaving. His guy told CNN. CNN reported it. Cruz heard and passed the information to his people.

He didn't do anything "wrong". He (or his) made a mistake by simply telling a CNN reporter that he was going home, skipping Iowa and would going to a Prayer meeting (or something) in Washington later in the week. They quickly amended it to add that he wasn't dropping out, but it was too late. It had already spread. Rubio's camp was doing the exact same thing but wasn't the one that Carson's people heard.
The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.
