Same thing on my 99 dodge cummins, speed sensor on the rear differential went out. It's just a sensor with a magnet in it on top of the pumpkin, look to see where the wires hook up. It counts the revolutions of the ring gear to see if the brakes have locked up.

It should be a pretty easy and relatively cheap fix.
