I have turkey hunted with 30", 28", 26", 24" and 18.5" barreled shotguns. I've decided the 24" is the sweet spot for me and 26" is knocking close behind. I didn't care for the stubby barrel at all. The long tom barrels bother me less than the shorty does. Right in the middle at 24" - 26" just does it all for me perfectly.
Hmm... I was going to compare my citori against the other options.
Theres a decent looking used mossberg 535 turkey & bird camo combo on a gun store that I may contemplate. The advantage is it would have a drilled & tapped receiver for the day I would consider an optic. Dont want one now because it seems so simple to to put the barrel up and pull the trigger and not worry about lining things up. Maybe older turkey hunters who have gone to optics can offer an opinion.
