One very good source of information is Nosler. Call them, ask to talk with a technician, ask what he thinks. Over many years I have found them experienced and knowledgeable.

A personal experience with the Nos BT. I had three shots on whitetail bucks. The 120 the Nos BT entered each behind the front shoulder and completely came apart inside. Dead deer after a short run. Very effective but no exit hole. I have since done some more shooting with them (120 Nos BT)and in the 6.5 at 3000fps muzzle velosity they come apart. I'd hope the 140 would be tougher. My son shoots 140 Nos BT from a .284 with great results. Partition, TTSX, Accubond would be, in my opinion, better choices.

A Nosler 140gr Ballistic Tip may be adequate but adequacy does not necessarily constitute better or best.

Best to you and I hope you have a great and successful hunt.

Jim

BE STRONG IN THE LORD, AND IN HIS MIGHTY POWER. ~ Ephesians 6:10

Socialism is a philosophy of failure,
the creed of ignorance,
and the gospel of envy,
its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
