Kimber makes really attractive, well designed guns, then cuts corners on components, IME. I'd be real curious to know how they make the Mauser-style extractor on the M84. I doubt it's a forging or barstock, however
though I've never heard of anyone breaking one.
A good barrel is the heart of any rifle, IMO. And if Ruger can make money on moderate priced American Rifles, and put good barrels on them, Kimber oughta be able to do it on a more expensive gun.
