I have had my fair share of rattlesnake run ins between controlled pd detonation sessions and working in the oilfield here in colorado, and I don't like em. I see them, they die. Was shooting at a batch of pd's out at about 400 yards when i noticed a dumb one looking at me from 100 yards to my right, so I shot him/her, and the 220 swift exploded it nicely, and was close enough to take a look. On the way back to my shooting spot, stepped over a hole and a rattler hit the bottom of my boot. Didn't rattle or anything. 230 grain loads out of my 45 did just fine
