Back when I was really into using older receiver sights I picked up a Witteck-Vaver relatively inexpensively at a local gun shop that was going out of business. It didn't have the original box, and unlike most manufacturers WV didn't stamp the model number on the sight.

It looks like it would screw onto the left-rear of a rimfire target rifle's receiver, but none of our rifles have the correct hole spacing, which as close as I can measure it is .600". Anybody got an idea? (I'm also going to check on Rimfire Central.)

Apparently WV sights were highly regarded, and this one still works very well, though obviously has been used considerably, perhaps even on a hunting rifle.
