IIRC, .600 is the standard spacing for Lyman 48, et al. I wouldn't rule out its application for on M54/70's in addition to .22 target rifles, John.

I had a WV sight on a Springfield back in another lifetime. I remember it as being a very precisely adjustable sight.

Edit: any way to shoot us a pic, John? I have a Vaver broadsheet that may shed some light. There were a boat load of applications in the old .22 target rifle world, including some fairly screwy looking ones.
