Gosh I remember finding two boxes in Bass Pro. Talked the manager into taking 15% off the $49.99 price because "Nobody shoots the 280AI".....that was two years ago. Never get that deal again.
The CF seems enchanted with cartridges requiring scarce, limited run brass; and exotic powders showing stellar performance but essentially unavailable. Kind of like exotic scotch or cocaine.
Reminds me of the Bitterroot Bonded Core trading that went on in the 1980's.Even had John Wooters back here in New England one weekend. He cut a deal with a buddy for 2 pounds of MRP for his 7 Rem Mag and 280.
Having played this game a couple of decades ago, I decided I was far better off just getting normal cartridges or at least those for which brass was a piece of cake to obtain.
Who needs the scarce supplies and drama?
