i picked up DPMS LR-308, for 795.00, going to have a 20" barrel installed and
have it free floated.

Just FYI, you can expect it to be pretty badly overgassed. When you install the new barrel, it would be a good idea to install an adjustable gas block too. Doesn't have to be an expensive one, a simple set screw type will do.
