That's why it won't make much difference in the election. Practically everybody who watches them are solidly in one camp, or the other, hoping to see their candidate do something special. The people who really matter (in this election) wouldn't watch it for money.
The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.
