If your talking straight budget gun, the best deals come off the used rack.
Most gun for the money(IMHO) would be the Savage/Nikon package mentioned above. Another good one would be the Mossberg/Vortex package rifles, I've seen walnut stocked ones in the $435 range. I know Mossberg doesn't get a lot of love around here, but the couple I've had the chance to shoot seemed accurate enough.
