I would clean the metal with Flitz and use it as is.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Rifle looks to be just fine. Heck it's a used rifle. I like used rifles, have plenty of them. Will do you good in the woods.
