A knife I made on a shearers grinder in the '80s to receive some TLC, the knife was cut from a large circular sawblade and the steel is L6, the handle scales are of redgum with brass pins, the sheath I made about a year after I made the knife.
A fellow in Victoria did the heat treatment in a Japanese forge (fancy name for lined pit on ground).

I carried the knife for a number of years whilst I was shearing, and it provided sterling service on pigs, killers (sheep), sundry camp chores, and fish...when my brother required a half decent blade for hunting I sent it to him.


This was the first knife I made, it seemed to work.
