My new Howa multicam came in to the FFL Monday have not picked it up yet. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with 24" #6 contour barrel. It comes with the Hogue pillar bedded stock which I hear has a very flimsy forend. My questions are would a steel rod or arrow shaft glass bedded into the forearm help much. Also even if it's pillar bedded would bedding the recoil lug be a bad idea? Not the whole action are the rear tang. Just curious I would rather not purchase a new stock. And I have plenty of acraglass gel on hand. I have bedded a Ruger American into a Boyd's pro varmint stock with good results. Even the factory Ruger synthetic stock will all its flimsiness shot great, so am I just over thinking this?
