Shooting a course of fire with mag loads is....not fun.
Especially with that trigger.

The course of fire was 60 rounds. I qualified with it for two years. By the 30th round, give or take a few, my index finger was bleeding profusely. The year after that I put several wraps of athletic tape on my index finger and brought my own .44 special ammunition. Worked great! I also came to the realization that it would take a better man than I to carry a 629 w/a 4" barrel as a duty weapon. I switched to a Para Ordnance P-14 and had it converted to .45 Super. After shooting that .44 Magnum the .45 Super recoiled like a pop-gun.
