I've had NO problems necking down range picked up 223 brass to 222 Rem. Do it for friends who have 222s. Just lube the brass and I use a 222 die, to neck it down.... RCBS 222 dies. Neck it down, with one full turn from full length sizing, then take it out and rotate it half a turn and then turn the ram all the way down and it comes out just fine for these guys...

YMMV, but seems to do the trick... works on new brass also...

I do anneal the brass first, whether new or range pickup.
