Before I went Wolf hunting I thought, it’s no big deal it’s like shooting a dog. The Outfitter told me it’s not like shooting a dog and they will carry a lot of lead if you don’t hit them right. He was right, I was wrong. There is a world of difference between a German Shepherd and the Wolf I have at home that is a killing machine.

I could see shooting a 75 lb Wolf with a .22-250 and 60 Gr. Nosler Partition over bait, but if you are cutting tracks and the Wolf will be running and the shots go longer or the Wolf is a lot bigger than 75 lbs., I think the Outfitter was also right and a Deer rifle Caliber is a much better choice.
