I have used this since the military started using this. Frog Lube is concentrated, it takes very little to get out standing results. There is also a treatment procedure that must be used to get optimum results. The results after several treatments show a clear and observable difference. You work the product with a tiny bit each time with elbow grease. You don't cake it on as all you are asking for is a gummed up mess.

For a field cleaning kit, this is optimum, as it is bio based and in case of a leak much better than non-bio based products for clean up. For home use, there are better bore cleaners and degreasers, and the Frog lube then worked in afterwards with tight patches and a lot of work. Working it until the part worms up is your friend when using Frog Lube.

As a rust preventative treatment and to slick up the action, it is hard to beat, if you take the time to properly use the product.
This video provides compelling proof:

Use it correctly and it works great. I only use the paste after the surface is clean, and use conventional degreasers and bore cleaners for everything else.

Years of use of this from M1A's to bolt actions have resulted in super smooth operation of the actions.
