I used to design factory assembly and service work centers.
There are some sturdy benches out there for under $100 and you can add a maple or 1.5 inch HD particle board top if you want.
I am building a new shop for myself right now, and shopping.
Some of the electronics benches are anti-static.
You don't need to get that elaborate, but do avoid Formica type tops and do ground yourself and the bench to avoid sparks when working with gunpowder.
