23", because you can't decide between 22 and 24. This is the reason I have had a lot of 23" barrels on my rifles.
Seems like great minds think alike. My custom Mauser in .35 Whelen with 1 in 14" twist has a 23" barrel as does my FN Mauser in 7x57. As I could never make up my mind whether I wanted 22" or 24", I just kept it simple and went with 23". I liked the end results. Paul B.
