Jaeger was as good a Mauser gunsmith as there was in the US. His standard rifles sold for about 40% more than a Winchester Model 70 in 1963, to give you an idea.

He built a side mount QD for the 7/8 inch scopes and later the 1-inch scopes. He also built his own trigger for the Mauser 98.

I used to drool over the catalogs as a youngster, and bought the first one I got my hands on, years ago, with scope, from its original owner, for whom it was custom built in 1954. I also bought 2 Marholdt Peterlongo custom Mausers from him, all at near the same price.
