I just got two new Remington 700 rifles (a CDL and an XHR) with the new "externally adjustable" triggers. I have adjusted the trigger using the screw per the instructions, and you can adjust the trigger from the factory set 56 ounces, but only to make the trigger have a harder pull. I have turned out the screw as far as I thought I could without having it fall out, but it is still at 56 ounces.

I have adjusted Remington triggers (both old style and the 'newer' old style) and have had good results doing that.

Here's the question, can the externally adjustable trigger be adjusted in much the same manner as the old triggers?

I'm looking to get the trigger set at somewhere between 32 and 40 ounces.
