Oldelkhunter, I'm not talking about the external adjustment screw. You are right, that screw won't adjust to less than 3.5 lbs.
The screw that I am talking about is the one pointed to by the red arrow in the picture that I provided the link to. The picture is of the 2007-2008 trigger, but the adjustment works for all of the X-Mark pro triggers.
