My vote goes to the German Shepherd, but NOT the modern American squat haunches bloodline. If you don't already have it pick up The Art of Raising a Puppy by The Monks of New Skete. Excellent info and great training info. Used it with 2 shepherds and they were the best dogs I have been around.
