I have found Barnes 168gr TSX to be the best bullet for my 300 Win Mag. I use 78.0 gr of RL-22, WLRM and seat them at .040 off the lands. Accuracy is sub 3/4" and muzzle velocity is 3140 with a 26' Lilja. I can go a little faster, but sacrifice some accuracy. I have found the finicky thing about all Barnes bullets is the seating distance. Once you find your "sweet spot" there, you've got the best round there is for terminal effect. I'm shooting the 168gr TSX in 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM (very lightweight) and the 210 TSX in 338 Win Mag. I have friends who are experimenting with the new RL-17 in 300 WIN Mag and 300 WSM with significant increase in velocity. I'll be trying the RL-17 as my next project.
