How many of you think 3-9x40 scope is enough for long range hunting? Say 600 maybe 800 yards.
I have been told 4.5-14 is ideal, while others believe 6-20 is ideal. I have taken a Coues out to 517 yards with my scope on 9x, but I was wondering if 9x is too low for shooting at a 100 pound deer at 600 or extreme and may never happen 800 yards?
Thoughts?
