GB, I'm really not a stock expert but I believe you're correct.
The A3 may be lighter as well. I chose the standard A3 for it's simplicity and not wanting a wide fore-end.
It has been a bit tricky for me to adjust to a the A3 style of vertical grip.
Too much pressure and the shot is off as I like to put a little more grip on a magnum chambered rifle.
It does come straight back though which helps.
