FWIW, As other campers have discussed there was a recall of tang safety 77 Ruger's. Those that were sent back to the factory due to recall and those made after recall will have a capital T and a punch mark on the bottom of bolt handle. If you really want a great trigger pull on these rifles, put a Basix sear and lighter trigger spring in your 77. Erniethegunsmith.com carries the sear and spring. If ernie does not have the basix sear, thegunsource.com should or just go to riflebasix.com. I've got one of these in .35 Whelen. Installation is not difficult and you can get step by step instructions from
www.riflebasix.com. The basix sear and trigger spring really makes for one sweet shooting rifle for around $40.00.
