The 75gr Hornady HPBT over 24.0gr Varget in my 26" Savage 12FV barrel puts 5 shots in .4 @ 100yd...and I'm still working on my trigger skills. Not sure of velocity, though.
Got my chronograph up and running and found this load averaged 2826fps with 10 rounds fired...and despite very good accuracy at 100yd the ES and SD was unacceptable at 84 and 23. Its entirely likely that was due to poor reloading form and worn-out RP brass; some new Lapua brass is waiting in the wings.
For comparison, the Hornady 68gr HPBT averaged 2955fps using 24.5gr Varget, with ES of 26 and SD of 11. Accuracy was good but not quite as good as the 75gr...though the sample size was quite small at only 4 rounds tested.
Oh yeah...CCI-400 was the primer.
