If it is a two screw action,tighten the front one fairly snug and then tighten the back one firm, but not as snug.If it is a 3 screw,tighten the middle on just enough to keep it in and the last one.

There are torque values for tightening action screws and even special inch pound torque wrenches to do so for about$80+or-.
I have never used one , but there will be quite few members here that say you have to have one.

Probably some posters here that have the same rifle as you do and canbe a little more specific.
