If it's something you have never done before, a bedding block stock would probably be the best bet for a good fit. Not sure who makes one for a 1999. It's not hard to bolt a barreled action into in a new stock if the stock is inletted properly for the action. Floating the barrel and bedding adds a bit of complexity to the process, but if using a bedding block in the stock, most won't bed and the barrel should float by design. If you take material out, take a little at a time.
