I fondled the 2-8x42mm and 1.2-5x36mm Duralyt's at SCI this weekend. Not impressed as they look and feel "clunky". Ocular is huge. I can see this being an issue mounting low.

The new Leupold VX-6 1-6x24mm with the illuminated German #4 would be a serious consideration IMHO. The FOV is outstanding, and the eye relief and "eye box" is very generous. My initial impression is Leupold finally got the rheostat right for once. The German #4 on the VX-6 compares quite favorably to their Post & Duplex reticle. A nice surprise, as their previous "versions" left a lot to be desired.
