Very sad.
I read an article several years ago on 'elder orphans', older people who have no family or they have outlived all their relatives. Some go off the grid without being noticed and are found dead months or years later without anyone noticing sooner.
It's very easy to live a lifestyle like this especially if you're not well known, have no family and friends, and all your bills are deducted automatically from your bank account.
Nobody like this should be forced to die alone.
