I thought the thing was a gadget, and a crock. What I'm talking about is those little orange crossed homes you see at the spotsman's show. They're called "LeBeau's Honer" and can be seen at honer.com.

All of the above mentioned devices do one tbing really well, remove precious blade material. As the salesman demonstrated, the knife isn't dull most of the time, the edge rolled and it needs to be straightened back out, not ground off.

I thought it was bunk until I bought one, and paid attention on how to use it.

Just offering an alternative to grinding or carving blade steel away (unless you like buying new knives more often!)
