The older Butler Creeks are a lot better than the new ones, but I still have had good luck with the new ones as well.
It's second nature for me to flip my both pieces up as I shoulder a rifle and having them on has helped me on more than one occasion during rain/snow.
Another kudos on the Leupold ones, wish more manufactures would do something similar.
