I have a 338-06 and am really pleased with it so far. I looked into the 35 whelen and 375 whelen (375-06) and decided on the 338 based on BC and 300+ yard energy numbers. Granted I will never take the gun to Africa. Many who build the 375-06 have issues with the shoulder being so small since this is where the case seats. I think any issues there can be over overcome with quality dies and barrel.
