NC as a state is not like that, but certain counties allow that type of power among the local government. This shop owner is an outsider and will never get anywhere. He has good ideas, but needs to move.
As a whole NC is like many other states. Conservative rural areas being rode roughshod by liberal population centers.
But with the republicans controlling our state capitol we are making progress.
We just need to nuke a few problem areas like Durham, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and Chapel Hill.
