The rule I use is if they have an ear-length of antler beyond the ear tips (horizontal position) they should scale out at 52 inches. This gives a bit of margin eyeball error.

You probably don't want to short it unless he is also brow-tine legal.










I"m still learning... so bear with me... so horizontal is what I"d call floppy, but have to be out at 90 degree angles, cna't be back and such.

What about alert?

I was figuring alert looking at you, had to be 16 inches IE basically almost foot and a half past each ear? Am I making it way to big then?

Floppy you are saying then a foot past each ear which is sorta where I started 2 years ago.

Regardless will probably be a 60 inch bull before we feel confident enough to shoot.
