Yeah, I'd have to see it to believe a rib shot with a 140 and 270WSM not exit on a rib shot. Not that it couldn't happen, just seems unlikely most of the time.
I had one blow through the tops of the shoulders on a big bull and wad up under the skin on the far side, and another through the top of a 4x4 muley at 275. Entered on the left of the spine and came out under the neck for at least a few ft of penetration. I thought back when I shot the bull the bull should've exited, but it really did take alot of abuse and did everything it was supposed to do.
Plus, the BC on that 140 is pretty good for long shooting. Not that it matters a ton, but it doesn't hurt.
Either way, if you just wanna experiment, I think the 270WSM with a full load under the Barnes would be a great performer. Plenty of speed to make sure they always open up.
