IMHO the BOSS system is the single greatest invention to improve rifle accuracy in the past 20 years. The thing that killed the BOSS was marketing it as a recoil reducing AND accuracy improvement device. As a brake, like all brakes it is an ear shredding abortion. With the solid end on it, it tunes the barrel and I have yet to meet any quality ammo that you cannot tune into sub MOA.

With todays modern powders and super monometal bullets the effective barrel length of 20" is no handicap. My 270 M 70 BOSS will push a 110 gr TTSX at 3500 fps and drop 5 well under a MOA out to 300 (farthest tested).

If you decide to take that barrel off (undamaged) please drop me a PM, as I'll buy some old push feed 06 M70 and have a tack driver.

The proof is in the eating. 323 lasered yards, 1 shot.
