A lot of kids have ended up on our door step. Our daughter has a huge heart, and never tended to hang with the pretty people, or the "in" crowd. Our spare bedroom has never stayed spare for long. Most of these kids turned out to be good, solid folks. 'Took some longer than others, but you've got to fall, in order to get up. Here's to all the folks out there that have taken the time to help others in this way.
A shame this sort of thing has gotten so complicated, if this was back in the Frontier days we would have given this young man a good horse, a good knife, a possibles bag and a rifle and told him he was welcome to come and go as he wished.
But I'll say it again, a lot of good people, some of whom I ain't met, helped and guided this young man along the way. We just showed up in the second half of the fourth quarter is all.
