My exp. w/ Asolo midweight goretex boots has been very good. The comfort and wear issues are equal to any boot I have ever owned. Lowa and Asolo fit my wide forefoot and narrow heel sizing better than all others. I find the gtx boot w/ gaiters get me through most terain year round. REI stocks some of both for fitting.
