Having fondled and shot 20+ Sakos, I've only had one that would not shoot. It was a manufacturing defect on the model 75 Stainless Synthetic in 338 Federal. Everything else I've been able to get to shoot sub-inch groups at 100 yds. with my handloads.
One of the gunsmiths I deal with says he loves to re-barrel Sakos as he never has to true the actions.
left to right......
Sako 85 medium
Sako 75 medium
Sako AV
Sako l61R
Sako S491
Sako Riihimaki
They shoot.
The actions in the races are slicker than owlschitt. Triggers can be adjusted.
Set Triggers on newer models that break at 9 oz.
They shoot.
oh yeah, did I mention they are shooters.
Drawbacks, heavy on the wood models, price new on new models.
