Without seeing it I think $800 to $900 is a "good" price, and a fair offer to a private party. Dealers will want more. If the wood is well figured, and you're striving to pick one that's a rare #1, it's probably worth more.

If you just especially like the cartridge, then the #1 allows flexibility in bullets/seating lengths, which is a plus.
