I like my 96/44. It's hard to beat a lever you can work without shifting your grip. The throw is short enough that I can flick my fingers and load another one. Accurate. I like the removable magazine. It's handy when you go in and out of vehicles during the hunting day, or have to make road crossings.
And a scope looks right at home. I don't like to scope my traditional levers. I think it spoils the look.
