I'm more and more enamored with 35 cal every day, so if I was in your shoes, I'd get a Whelen. It is on my short list of guns to get next. Just think: light loads with handgun bullets, and then some serious mojo when you want it with heavy rifle bullets. Seems ideal to me today. Hell, maybe the 35 Whelen is at the top of the short list.
