The .30/06 is the equivalent of a ballistic incinerator. The list of powders that are ill-suited is likely shorter, than the alternative.

Which may make the old, boring and unexciting '06 an ideal round for this age of powder shortages. It'll do pretty well with just about whatever one can find on dealer's shelves...

BTW, this weekend, Cabela's at Gonzales, LA had some IMR powder stocked, 7828, 3031 and 4064, IIRC. Of course, no Hodgdon such as Varget...
